Arriving at Lao Cai railway station around 5:30 AM, we will have breakfast and take a shower at a hotel near the train station before heading by car to Sa Pa. We will reach an altitude of 1650 meters after a 45-minute climb and then embark on a hike from Cat Cat to Y Linh Ho, passing through small hamlets of the Black Hmong ethnic group. We'll enjoy a picnic lunch in the valley during the hike.

Along the way, we'll encounter families practicing indigo dyeing, and the women's union has organized a small cooperative where we can learn about the art of Batik.

Leaving Sa Pa and the Hoang Lien mountain range behind, we head towards the Bac Ha region, which is still mountainous and close to the Chinese border. We continue the walk through the H'mong villages of Ban Pho 1 and Ban Pho 2, where a delicious corn alcohol is distilled.

Tonight, we will stay with a Tay family in their traditional stilt house to get a closer look at the culture of the ethnic groups living in the region. We'll enjoy dinner in a warm atmosphere and have the chance to taste homemade rice wine.

About twenty kilometers from Dong Van town, we make a stop at the small town of Sung La, inhabited by two colorful minority ethnic groups: the H'mong and Lo Lo.
