Full day: Hanoi City Tour (L)

Begin your day with a tour of the capital, visiting iconic sites such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside). This massive memorial, located in the center of Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, was the site where Vietminh leader Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence on September 2, 1945. Also, visit his former residence, the stilt house of Ho Chi Minh, the beloved founder of modern Vietnam known as “Uncle Ho”.

Explore the One Pillar Pagoda, constructed by emperor Lý Thái Tông in 1049. The emperor built this temple in gratitude, erecting a pillar in the center of a lotus pond, just like the one he saw in his dream. He met the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in his dream who handed him a baby son while seated on a lotus flower.

Discover the Tran Quoc Pagoda, the city's oldest pagoda, constructed in the sixth century during the reign of Emperor Ly Nam De, making it 1,400 years old. With its harmonious architecture and watery landscape, this pagoda is a picturesque attraction, and the sunset views from the temple grounds are world-renowned.

Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first national university, which held offering ceremonies, study sessions, and strict exams of the Dai Viet. Constructed in 1070 during the reign of King Lý Nhân Tông, it is one of several temples in Vietnam dedicated to Confucius, sages, and scholars.

Enjoy a delicious lunch in a restaurant before continuing your tour in the afternoon at the Museum of Ethnology, focusing on the 54 officially recognized ethnic groups in Vietnam.

In the early evening, experience a water puppet show, a unique Vietnamese art form where split-bamboo screens hide puppets standing in water, manipulated using long poles hidden beneath the water.

For dinner, feel free to explore the city on your own. Then, return to your own hotel.
